Wendy Renee's African Eclipse Adventure
21 June 2001

The campsite

Dan shared his telescope with two Carols, while Steve and Dick stood guard.

We could hear the crackling from the fires!
Dan and Rhineheart wave for the camera.

Robert and Elizabeth set up seven tripods in the corner of the field, far from the fire.

We shared our eclipse glasses with the farmworkers.

After the eclipse our group met the villagers to share our excitement.

A few of them wanted my hat, but settled for a group photo.

Debbie shared her telescope with curious locals.

Our flag bearers led the way to the hollow beobab tree for a group portrait.
Texas, Quebec and Uruguay were represented.
Rodolfo, Pierre and Rhineheart hold the standards.

Tom took group photos with an entire row of cameras
while the bemused villagers watched.
